oakland. >> terry mcsweeney joins us live from the coliseum. . how are fans reacting to this? >> reporter: trying to talk with a's fan today about a few year lease agreement is like trying to talk to my 11-year-old son about college so far in the distance, don't bother me right here we have season ticket holders waiting to get in the coliseum which just opened up. these folks are here and now. >> . the line was long for those opening to root the a's on. so long, some didn't get tickets at 9 a.m. we found a couple in line having breakfast. >> oakland fan spirit. >> we got muffins too. >> reporter: the chronicle is reporting the a's and coliseum authority are negotiating a five year lease extension with mlb offering to negotiate the deal. partner wolf is quoted as

saying he's interested in the extension though he has talked about taking the team to san jose right now there is no stadium to take it to. besides the giants have the rights to the san jose fan base. >> the fans will come they prove that year after year. it is a little sad ownership these days, this place is going to rock. >> reporter: rare sell-out for the a's for the team more to do, including deal with people like me. >> media is compounding daily. the further we go from a team standpoint the larger the media contingency gets. >> reporter: back in line. >> a lot of ranger fans that i'm friends with it going to be great having the sweep today and coming back from being 13 back. >> reporter: looking at season ticket holders, you see the line they are being allowed in a couple at a time as the coliseum opens. these people have been suffering some for years some

it impressed san francisco's mayor as it came ashore this morning. >> i'm very surprised at the size of it, the ability to carry emergency equipment from trucks to generators and all the things we might absolutely need. >> reporter: layman's term is hovercraft. navy officials will tell you it is technically called a landing craft air cushion. they brought it here as part of fleet week to showcase the fact that the navy can move combat or humanitarian supplies from a ship to the beach, very quickly. >> it travels at 40, 50 miles an hour on the water. most vessels out here travel 5 to 10 miles. >> reporter: the other advantage is the amount it can carry. consider what it could do come bared to a helicopter. >> -- compared to a helicopter. >> 12 to -- host helicopters can only lift one or sometimes two vehicles at a time. >> reporter: what it can move to shore, mobile er and surgical center which the
